Presenter: Michael Quinn Patton, Ph.D., CGU Professor of Evaluation Practice

Professor Patton is the Founder and CEO of Utilization-Focused Evaluation, an independent organizational development and program evaluation organization.

After receiving his doctorate in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he spent 18 years on the faculty of the University of Minnesota (1973–1991), including five years as Director of the Minnesota Center for Social Research and ten years with the Minnesota Extension Service.

The CEC is pleased to announce a new webinar series this semester exploring how evaluation and applied research intersect with the largest issues facing society today. During this 7 session series, Dr. Michael Quinn Patton will be looking at key issues such as the nature of systems transformation, the role of evaluation in creating systemic change, lessons learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic, and how evaluation can be used to interpret the 2020 presidential election. This is an invaluable opportunity to hear from a leader in the evaluation field about the most pertinent topics in applied research and evaluation practice.
