Elrha is a global organisation that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We are looking for an individual or team to conduct a process evaluation of the Responsive Research Mechanism used by our Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) programme. Evaluation findings and recommendations will be used to inform the future working of the Responsive Mechanism. You can find the Terms of Reference here https://www.elrha.org/career/r2hc-responsive-mechanism-evaluation/

Our Responsive Research Mechanism has funded rapid research to support the Ebola crises in West Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Food and Nutrition Crisis in the Horn of Africa. Earlier this year we funded 15 studies to support the COVID-19 response in humanitarian settings. The Mechanism is designed to respond to unforeseen humanitarian crises or disease outbreaks, with research findings contributing in real time to humanitarian response.

We want to assess how the Responsive Research Mechanism functions, to find out whether it’s fit for purpose and is delivering what it promises. Comparing our processes with those used by other rapid research mechanisms, we are seeking to identify existing good practice that can help inform and improve our own approach and systems.

Elrha is seeking an experienced evaluator or evaluation team to conduct this evaluation. The deadline for applications is 23:59 GMT on 31 October 2020.

For more information please contact Simon Pickard S.Pickard@elrha.org R2HC Portfolio Manager.
