GENSA in collaboration with Evaluation Observatory is happy to announce the webinar for next Tuesday 28 Sept, 2021 at 6 PM IST. Kindly see further details and registration link.

The United Nations 2030 Agenda has often been cited as a ‘victory for gender equality’, with its promise ‘to leave no one behind’ – a powerful apogee for gender mainstreaming with the 17 SDGs. With special emphasis on the need to strengthen accountability frameworks, the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development is a call to the evaluation community to introspect on how best to use gender-based evaluations to achieve development targets for women.

However, this calls to objectively assess:
• Is gender mainstreaming in evaluations enough to promote human rights – or does it need to work hand in hand with gender mainstreaming in policy design?
• How is the spectrum of gender mapped in different policy and program contexts?
• What evaluator- program stakeholder dynamics lead to creating tangible impact for gender-based programs?
In short, what more needs to be done by the evaluation community to truly walk the talk in creating sustained equitable development for women?
