The renowned international training program in evaluation will take place from July 10 to 21, 2023 at the University of Bern. We expect more than 180 participants from about 65 countries to learn, exchange ideas and network together on the basics of evaluation and current evaluation topics.

Panel discussion

A very special extra-curricular event in this year`s onsite program is a panel discussion on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the OECD DAC Network on Development Evaluation (EvalNet), jointly organized by IPDET and the current chair of the DAC EvalNet Prof. Jörg Faust, Director of the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval).

When: Wednesday, July 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. CEST
Topic: “Development Evaluation between partner orientation and domestic accountability”
Panelists: 

  • Jörg Faust (Director of DEval)
  • Jos Vaessen (Methods Advisor of the Independent Evaluation Group of the WBG)
  • Silvia Salinas (former Co-chair of EvalPartners, Senior strategy advisor, and evaluator in the social development sector)
  • A representative from a National Government of the Global South.
