Key information to encourage interest:
Recognizing the far-reaching negative impact of untreated hearing loss on well-being and social inclusion, the Austrian medical device company MED-EL initiated the Hearing Healthcare Alliance project (https://hearinghealthcare.medel.com), a business partnership co-funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). The current phase runs from 2022-2025 and covers 14 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. One key component, the early detection of people with hearing impairment – specifically Newborn Hearing Screenings – will be evaluated in two project countries: Nepal and Benin.
