The MEAL Officer at Habitat for Humanity Poland is responsible for ensuring effective Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) processes in all the organization’s projects and activities. This role is key for analyzing complex data, planning and organizing MEAL activities, and adapting to changing needs. The MEAL Specialist is responsible for solving data management issues, maintaining meticulous attention to detail, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve the organization’s goals. Effective communication and ethical practices are central to this role, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement of the organization’s impact and efficiency.
Responsibilities for this position include:
• Developing and implementing modern monitoring systems and automating data validation processes.
• Collaborating with teams in designing data collection systems and tracking results.
• Implementing risk monitoring tools, ensuring regular reviews, and documenting risk mitigation measures.
• Coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes, preparing reports for external institutions, and ensuring compliance with requirements.
• Preparing reports for institutions such as GUS (Polish Central Statistical Office) and OPP (Public Benefit Organizations), ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery of information.
• Creating and managing the knowledge management system, promoting a culture of reflection and continuous improvement.
• Ensuring compliance with the organization’s mission, ethical standards, and donor requirements.
• Collecting and analyzing feedback from beneficiaries, implementing mechanisms to improve program effectiveness.
• Developing staff knowledge, providing training and mentoring in MEAL, and promoting data-driven decision-making.
• Planning and managing the MEAL budget, monitoring resource allocation.
We expect candidates to have:
• At least two years of experience in MEAL, including data collection, analysis, and report writing, especially in similar positions in NGOs, the international development sector, or humanitarian aid.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing comprehensive MEAL frameworks across multiple projects or programs.
• Proven experience in conducting complex evaluations, including both qualitative and quantitative analyses, and translating results into strategic recommendations.
• Strong leadership skills in cross-functional collaboration, particularly in integrating MEAL processes with program design and implementation.
• Excellent command of both English and Polish, spoken and written (C1 level).
Preferred qualifications:
• Familiarity with software tools such as Excel, Access, PowerBI, Salesforce.
• A higher education degree in social sciences, development studies, statistics, or other fields focused on monitoring and evaluation.
• Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian.
