The future of evaluation isn’t just an idea—it’s a collective movement we’re shaping together. We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of our Future of Evaluation dialogue monthly series, which began with a powerful kickoff on International Youth Day 2025.
Our first dialogue on 12 August 2025, “Is the intersection of youth, innovation, and influence evaluation’s new frontier?” explored how young people are shaping the landscape of evaluation. The event was inaugurated by Ms. Diene Keita, Acting Executive Director of UNFPA, who, along with EvalYouth Chair Ana Erika Lareza, passed the symbolic #EvalTorch to the dialogue moderator, Agnes Nyaga from UN Human Rights, launching the new dialogue. If you missed this insightful conversation, see ahead for a full recap.
Building on this momentum, we’ll be hosting a new Future of Evaluation dialogue every month, each linked to a key international action day. This series will provide a platform for dynamic conversations on the most pressing issues of our time that impact the future of evaluation.
The next dialogue, on 23 September 2025, is aligned with the International Day of Peace (21 September) with the topic “How can evaluation be a force for peace and resilience building amidst global instability?” We invite you to join us as we explore the vital role of evaluation in creating a more stable and just world. Check out the speaker lineup and registration details ahead
To complement our monthly dialogues, we are also excited to launch a brand-new video series: Future of Evaluation – Expert Take!. These videos will provide concise, on-demand insights from leading voices on key topics shaping the future of evaluation, making expert voices more accessible than ever before. Our first episode with Ana Erika Lareza, on how youth engagement is shaping the future of evaluation is now live.
Renewing the strategy for the Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation
After a successful 10-year journey, the Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation (GPFE) — a key co-leader of #Eval4Action — is launching a new strategy.
Building on significant milestones like the EvalColombo2018 parliamentarians’ conference and the signing of the Colombo and Manila Declarations, the GPFE is now focused on strengthening the use of evidence by parliaments and parliamentarians worldwide.
Key highlights of the new strategy include:
- Establishing strategic partnerships with the evaluation community and other stakeholders.
- Strengthening GPFE’s global reach through regional chapters and national parliaments.
- Piloting model M&E units within selected parliaments.
- Hosting a global conference on ‘Evidence for Parliamentarians’.
Members of national parliaments are invited to join the GPFE. Interested parliamentarians and networks working with parliamentarians are welcome to partner with the GPFE to advance the use of evidence among parliamentarians.
