Purpose of the Consultancy
The objective of the consultancy is to obtain Russian language OpenWHO production and learning material development capacity.
Background
WHO’s learning and capacity development is centred around multi-lingual learning materials on the OpenWHO platform. In order to ensure production of content in Russian, a native-speaking content production assistant is required. This consultancy is to bring on board of the OpenWHO team a native Russian speaker who can oversee and contribute to course production processes. Given the substantial increase in user numbers (currently 2.5 million) and visibility of OpenWHO, this recruitment is of high priority..
Work to be performed
Output 1: Courses and learning contents in Russian language published on OpenWHO platform
Activity 1.1: Create course structure according to given course outlines
Activity 1.2: Language edit course basic information and evaluations
Activity 1.3: Upload course content and quizzes
Activity 1.4: Produce transcripts and subtitles for the video lectures
Activity 1.5: Draft course announcements and initiate and manage advocacy/course promotional material
Activity 1.6: Adapt learning materials in other languages (mainly English) into suitable formats for Russian speakers
Output 2: Support quality control processes during the course production
Activity 2.1: Proofread and edit presentation and other learning materials
Activity 2.2: Verify newly produced Russian language materials for consistency with original (English language) content
Activity 2.3: Implement changes to materials based on user comments or other feedback
Output 3: Deal with Russian language requests on the OpenWHO helpdesk
Activity 3.1: Answer any Russian-language helpdesk requests
Activity 3.2: Translate FAQ answers into Russian
Timeline
Start date: 15/06/2020
End date: 14/12/2020
Work effort
– 6 Months at 100 %

Specific requirements
Educational requirements
- Bachelors level degree in project management, administration, or related field
Experience required
- At least 2 years’ experience in project management, workflow management in Russian language
Skills / Technical skills and knowledge
- Skills in project management and great attention to detail
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team
- Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders
Language requirements
- Strong language skills in Russian with ability to work in at least one other UN language essential
Place of assignment
The consultant will work remotely
