This autumn, European Evaluation Society (EES) will be holding an election for a Vice-President and 3 new board members.
This email is an invitation to nominate candidates for these positions, which will become vacant as of 1 January 2025.
The position of the EES Treasurer will be filled after the election. According to EES Statutes, Article 11, the Treasurer will be appointed by the EES Board in a Board meeting.
The EES board encourages every member to seriously consider either nominating or being nominated for these elected positions. While serving on the EES Board is not an honorary position and requires a significant commitment of time and energy (and the flexibility to contribute to variety of tasks), it can be an enriching and exciting journey.
The EES is launching a range of new initiatives as part of our transformation as a society that is fully engaged in serving and supporting the development of our evaluation community. These activities include: our new Learning Hub providing professional development and learning exchange opportunities; policy fora connecting policy makers, evaluators and policy research organisations to stimulate debate and development in public policy areas in which evaluators work; strengthening the work of our Thematic Working Groups; increased collaboration with our institutional members including joint activities and enhanced services to increase our membership base. Additionally all these activities will be supported through media and communications campaigns as well as outreach and networking with our community.
We are seeking Board members who are keen to lead and/or actively contribute to one or more of these current strategic initiatives as outlined above. We invite nominees to indicate their interests in these initiatives and what they can bring to their successful implementation. As a Board member of EES, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of evaluation in Europe and beyond, while serving a growing, diverse, and vibrant community of professionals. We look forward to your nominations.
The Vice President role, offers an important opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the society. The Vice President is also President Elect and will be expected to take on the Presidency of the EES after the current President’s term expires at the end of December 2025. The Vice President will have a major influence on shaping and overseeing the next biennial conference in 2026. This is an exciting leadership opportunity and we warmly welcome nominations of able, committed and creative EES members!
