Arts-based techniques can help boost energy and excitement for evaluation by combatting participation fatigue and offering inclusive options for engagement.

Arts-Based Methods for Evaluators is an exciting beginner-level online course that provides evaluators with a glimpse into creative techniques for data-collection. Across 5 sessions, learners will explore 4 low-cost and easy-to-implement techniques: poetry, drawing, photo elicitation, and collage. With real-world examples, time to practice arts techniques, rich discussion, and applied problem-solving, this course explores the how, when, and why to integrate arts methods into your own evaluation practice. Folks who work in evaluation anywhere in the world are welcome. Some experience with qualitative data collection/analysis techniques is an asset. Zero artistic skill is required.

Facilitators Dr. Maya Lefkowich and Jennica Nichols from AND Implementation Inc. in Canada are passionate about making creative methods for evaluation useful, accessible, and meaningful.
