Aim of workshop: To give practical tips for researchers and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) practitioners on how to use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude.ai and Perplexity.ai) to analyse qualitative data. The course covers:

  • Introduction to the different AItools
  • Overview of AI’s transformation of research and evaluation methodologies
  • How to write proper prompts
  • Real-world examples where AIhas been instrumental in research and evaluation.
  • Ethics in the use of AI
  • Data protection and privacy
  • Creating your own AIassistant
  • “Hands on” exercises on how data can be input, processed, and analyzed.

Target Audience: Researchers, development and M&E professionals who are at varying stages of their career. The assumption is that most people would never have used AI or have heard of the tools, so the workshop will be pitched at an introductory level. Duration: The workshop is via Zoom and consists of 2 live sessions with the facilitator and 2 sessions of self-paced learning. The self-paced learning will consist of a case study that persons will do on their own as ‘home work” The course is highly interactive with demonstrations.
