How can Africa effectively decolonise its national evaluation systems to meet the needs and aspirations of its people?

For too long, national evaluation systems in Africa have been shaped by methodologies rooted in colonial frameworks that often fail to reflect local realities. These systems tend to marginalize indigenous knowledge, exclude local stakeholders, and perpetuate inequities.

Decolonising evaluation systems is essential for creating frameworks that truly resonate with Africa’s unique context, culture, and values. Only then can development outcomes genuinely address the needs and aspirations of African communities.

In our upcoming webinar, Decolonising National Evaluation Systems in Africa, we will explore the experiences of South Africa and Benin in decolonising their evaluation systems, examine the challenges they faced, and discuss strategies for overcoming these challenges.

Join us on December 12, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM (GMT+1). English and French translations will be provided during the webinar.
