OurCity is one of Fondation Botnar’s key initiatives that aims to ensure young people’s wellbeing and opportunities are secured. The initiative takes a place-based approach, catalysing stakeholders, driving policy change, strengthening processes, and implementing strategic projects through inclusive engagement and advocacy. The initiative collaborates with young people, civil society, policymakers, innovators, and other city champions to nurture well-being and opportunity for all.
The OurCity initiative began implementation in Tanga, Tanzania, in 2019. Following its successful launch, the model was replicated in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in 2020 and subsequently expanded to Barranquilla, Colombia, in 2022. OurCity has since welcomed Koforidua, Ghana, and Manta, Ecuador, into its fold in 2023. On behalf of the Foundation, we would like to invite an evaluation firm or team of evaluators to express their interest (EOI) in undertaking the evaluation of OurCity backbone – KofKro (Koforidua, Ghana). Attached is the relevant Terms of Reference (ToR), which contains all the necessary details for the evaluation. The expected duration for the evaluation is w/c 11 November 2024 to w/c 19 May 2025.
We are seeking an evaluation team with demonstrable experience in designing and conducting evaluations with strong interpersonal skills. There is a preference for evaluators based in Ghana or the region and able to conduct in-person visits to Koforidua. It is desirable that team members have knowledge and experience in one or more fields relevant to this evaluation (youth engagement, understanding of city or urban-based interventions, policy advocacy, systems thinking, and partnership brokering).
If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please read the attached ToR carefully and follow the instructions provided. EOI should be submitted no later than 6 September 2024 at 12pm noon CET in pdf format to evaluation@fondationbotnar.org clearly mentioning in the subject line OurCity backbone – KofKro. A full proposal will be requested from evaluators who are shortlisted.
