Continuing the dialogue on the Future of Evaluation
Our monthly Future of Evaluation dialogue series continues to move forward, aligning its latest discussions with the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. The third session, held on 23 October, centered on the vital question: “How can evaluation shape a future-fit United Nations?”. Resources are available ahead for those who missed this interesting session.
Looking ahead, we invite you to register for the next Future of Evaluation dialogue on 25 November. This dialogue will explore the pivotal role of evaluation in guiding efforts towards a future free from gender-based violence (GBV). The discussion will focus on how gender-responsive evaluation and inclusive evaluation methodologies can drive effective interventions and ensure accountability to end GBV in all its forms, including the growing challenge of technology-facilitated GBV. The dialogue will also explore how to best leverage evaluation results to directly influence and achieve GBV policy reforms. URL / Link for full details
Beyond the dialogue series, October was a pivotal month for evaluation advocacy, particularly around advancing meaningful youth engagement in evaluation. Eval4Action partners actively showcased good practices at several major conferences, including the 6th Western Balkans Evaluation Network (WBEN) conference, the 4th International Evaluation Congress of Poland, and the Annual General Meeting of the African Parliamentarians Network on Development Evaluation.
This focus on young evaluation leaders is well complemented by the latest #Eval4Action blog, authored by Pooja Pandey from Sambodhi Research and Communications. The blog advocates for integrating critical thinking, interdisciplinary approaches, and experiential learning into M&E education to prepare the next generation of evaluators.
