Seeking an Evaluation Director to serve on the upcoming 5-year Uganda MEL Support activity.
The activity will oversee and execute most, if not all, of the evaluations in USAID/Uganda’s portfolio. It’s an exciting opportunity to see “inside the DNA” of USAID and understand how evaluations inform strategy and how decisions are made.
The Director will scope work with USAID Activity Managers; select mixed methods for evaluations, assessments and studies; refine evaluation and research questions; assign the Evaluation and Analysis Unit staff to assignments; interrogate draft findings and recommendations for quality; advise authors on the strategic use of infographics and data visualization in reports; ensure evaluations are compliant with USAID’s ADS 201; and participate in the dissemination of learning to key stakeholders and targeted audiences.
Minimum requirements for the position include an advanced degree and six years of experience with evaluations, assessments, or research, including two years applying mixed methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis. The Director must have two years of experience managing teams that produced high quality analysis. Knowledge of USAID’s Program Cycle and experience evaluating USAID-funded activities is preferred. The Director must have excellent oral and written communications skills and be able to present to senior USAID and GOU audiences.
A proven writer in US English is preferable due to the demands of the client.
