UNICEF is currently seeking expressions of interest from institutions to undertake evaluations of UNICEF’s responses in Yemen, Afghanistan and/or Northern Ethiopia. Details can be found here: https://www.ungm.org/Public/Notice/172932.
The overall objectives for all three evaluations are the same. First, they will provide a comprehensive assessment of UNICEF’s overall response to the crises against its own mandate and standards, its stated objectives, and standard evaluation criteria. Second, they will make recommendations to improve both the ongoing responses as well as responses to future emergencies. In so doing, the evaluations will fulfil both an accountability purpose, reflecting the need to account for some of UNICEF’s largest programmes and a learning purpose, reflecting the need to capture lessons to inform the responses.
