Description:
An independent monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) company that provides tailored solutions to social challenges. We are a US-registered small business with staff support offices in Nairobi, Pretoria, and Mauritius. SoCha currently implements several development assistance programs in Asia and Africa.

We currently have a pipeline of more than 25 evaluations, assessments, studies and other analytical works for design and implementation in Kenya, Zambia, DRC, the Sahel and across the Asia/Pacific region. We seek experienced Evaluators – able to serve as either Team Leaders or Team Members – to provide technical, analytical and managerial services for evaluations, assessments, and studies across our evaluation portfolio.

Scope of Work
The Evaluator will work on a consultant basis to design and conduct evaluations, assessments, and studies from inception to final delivery, and may include developing research questions, methods, and protocols, scoping, planning, and implementing data collection, training, quality assurance, and quality control for quantitative and qualitative data in the field, data analysis, writing reports on study findings, and presenting findings to USAID and related audiences. S/he will be responsible for:
• Actively contributing to SoCha’s methodological innovations.
• Conduct evaluations directly as team leader or as a team member.
• Deliver projects according to client requirements and budget parameters in a timely manner.
• Implement qualitative and quantitative designs for performance and impact evaluations.
• Potentially manage data collection teams to ensure high quality data.
• May provide capacity building for local teams, developing tools and training materials specific to each evaluation, assessment and study.
• Analyze data collected to provide robust answers to evaluation and research questions.
• Prepare high quality reports and present results in workshops and meetings.
• Ensure that lessons learned are captured, synthesized, reported, and disseminated.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in social sciences, economics, evaluation, or international development.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience.
• Experience as an evaluation Team Leader or Team Member responsible for final delivery of an evaluation.
• Expertise designing and implementing analytical methodologies using a mixture of qualitative and quantitative approaches are advantages.
• Excellent English writing skills.
• Proficiency in French is very beneficial.
