ALNAP is updating the 2006 guidance, Evaluating humanitarian action using the OECD DAC Criteria. We are updating it to take account of the 2019 OECD DAC criteria update, and to make it fit for the future of humanitarian action.We are running a comprehensive consultation process to get feedback from a broad spectrum of humanitarian evaluators, evaluation commissioners and other practitioners, and as part of the process we are organizing consultation events and we have launched a global survey.
We are organising the following online events in 2024:
- For the Francophone community in partnership with Groupe URD, Key Aid Consulting and UNICEF evaluation bureau. This event will be in French only. The event will be held on Tuesday, 6 February from 2:00–3:30 PM CET. Please register here.
- For the MENA community in partnership with 360 Consulting and LEBEVAL. This event will be in Arabic and English. The event will be held on Monday, 19 February, 2:00–3:30 PM CET. The registration form is available in English (please click here) and in Arabic (please click here).
During the events, ALNAP will explain the rationale for updating the guidance and present the main findings of new research, highlighting key challenges and issues around the OECD DAC criteria. Participants will have the opportunity to share their perspectives and experiences with the criteria. You should come ready for a lively discussion and to contribute insight during breakout groups.
