Quantitative methods and mix of methods in the assessment of the object of evaluation
The SEVAL Congress 2022 aims to deepen the connection between the assessment of the object of evaluation and the application of quantitative methods or mixed methods. There is a triangulation between the assessment to be made, the methods in question and the available information (which usually includes quantitative as well as qualitative data). The choice of assessment method depends on the modalities of the assessment (i.e. the subject matter, criteria, measures, etc.). The methods can then be compared to select the most suitable methods.
Of course, this also raises the question of the available information. It is therefore the coordination between these three aspects – assessment, methods, information – that determines the manner of assessment. Certain methods make it possible to measure effects and to show evidence on which the evaluation is based. Once the method has been applied, it is a matter of returning to the assessment of the valuation object.
