ISET International

Location: Based in Bangladesh

ISET International is working with CJRF on an upcoming Phase I final evaluation, and are looking for a consultant based in Bangladesh to join the evaluation team. The ideal candidate will have past experience working with women’s groups and/or evaluating their activities. Must speak Bangla fluently.

The Climate Justice Resilience Fund (CJRF) has recently finished its initial six-year phase, and is getting ready to launch its second phase of pooling funds and making grants. In preparation for this new work, the organization is undertaking an exciting transformation from a donor-led fund to a fully participatory, movement-facing and constituent-led fund.

As an input to this period of significant change, CJRF wishes to take stock of its efforts and achievements to date, through a review of work throughout the first phase, 2016-2022. The objectives of the evaluation are to inform ongoing strategic discussions about:

a. the future of the fund and b. activities to build the field of climate justice.

The Climate Justice Resilience Fund supports women, youth, and Indigenous Peoples to build and share their own solutions to climate change through grants to civil society organizations in the Bay of Bengal, East Africa, and the North American Arctic, as well as grants with global reach. CJRF believes that lasting climate resilience must start with those communities hit first by climate change. The Fund helps communities reduce risks, manage shocks, rebound, and continue charting a path to sustainable development. The theory of change prioritizes community empowerment, policy advocacy, and movement-building, working from local to global.

ISET staff will lead the work globally and in the Bay of Bengal in cooperation with a local consultant to be recruited. Regional consultants will lead the work in East Africa and the Arctic.

In the Bay of Bengal, ISET is recruiting a female consultant based in Bangladesh. We expect the evaluation to take place over a 6 month period, starting in April 2023. The consultant would need to interview grantees and possibly community members, review documents, organize a workshop, and participate with a global team in analyzing results. All this in partnership with a US-based team member.

Interested candidates for the support role in the Bay of Bengal should contact Kanmani Venkateswaran at kanmani@i-s-e-t.org.
