Climate change, conflict, political instability, economic shocks: the environments where interventions are implemented have become harder to predict and faster to change. Conventional midterm and final evaluations have their place, but were notย designed for this dynamic reality. What’s needed is evaluation that can happen rapidly, at any point during implementation, and in direct response to emerging needs.

By the end of the course, participants will understand:

โœ” What RTE is, and how it relates to other rapid evaluation and real-time learning approaches

โœ” RTE’s humanitarian roots and the drivers behind its growing use across sectors

โœ” When RTE is โ€” and isn’t โ€” the right tool

โœ” Key considerations for commissioning, planning, managing, and conducting RTEs

โœ” How to build an effective RTE team

โœ” Data collection methods suited to real-time constraints, including remote approaches

โœ” How AI can support rapid RTE

โœ” Reporting and communication strategies that put learning to immediate use
