The Senior Social and Behavior Change Advisor will primarily support the USAID Zambia Mission as an IBTCI Institutional Support Contractor (ISC). The Senior Social and Behavior Change Advisor will work in the Health Office of USAID/Zambia and provide technical leadership for the Health Team’s social and behavior change (SBC) activities, and will have primary responsibility for supporting the Health Team’s SBC activities across the areas of HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, maternal and child health (MCH), family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), global health security (GHS) and nutrition. The Senior SBC Advisor (the Senior Advisor) will also provide technical direction for USAID/Zambia’s SBC efforts involving PEPFAR, PMI, as well as maternal and child survival, TB, and family planning/ reproductive health efforts. The Senior Advisor will provide high level programmatic assistance and support and promote stronger collaboration with the relevant Government of Republic of Zambia (GRZ) counterpart Ministries working on behavioral change impacting the health sector, including prevention and health communications interventions that promote positive change in reducing risks and adopting healthier behaviors. The Senior Advisor will engage appropriate Ministry and development partner counterparts to support prevention planning, coordination, technical oversight, leveraging resources, and longer-term strategic planning to support the GRZ’s national plans for sustained impact of SBC interventions in improving health status.
