Description: A programme within GSMA’s Mobile for Development portfolio is seeking a researcher or team of researchers to undertake an in-depth exploration of inclusive risk communication.
The research seeks to assess how inclusive the use of mobile and digital technologies are for risk communication programming and the potential barriers to receiving, understanding, and using information, using human-centred design methods. The project will be assessing current humanitarian risk communication programming likely in three locations in South Africa, in partnership with the IFRC and South African Red Cross.
The research will look at risk communication in contexts at risk of sudden-onset shocks or crises. The project is scheduled to start in July 2023 and end in December 2023. We are particularly interested in working with suppliers who have experience in participative and user centred /design methodologies and data analysis within the humanitarian sector.
