This webinar is part of the dissemination of the results of the research program funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada “Access to Health, Mineral Resources and Public Policy in Africa” conducted from 2017 to 2021 by a multidisciplinary team of researchers from universities in Senegal, Quebec, Mali and France. It follows a short article on the conditions that would promote a better contribution of mining revenues to universal access to health in Senegal and Mali published in the A+ International Newsletter of the École nationale d’administration publique in March 2022.

Transparency issues regarding the allocation of mining revenues as well as the unavailability of certain mining contracts signed with the State, the non-existence of a mining policy articulated with the financing needs of key public services and the persistence of advantageous regulatory and fiscal frameworks for extractive companies are all topics that will be discussed by speakers who will examine how these issues will be discussed. are of direct concern to decision-makers, investors, researchers and other stakeholders in this field in Quebec and Canada.

The preparation and dissemination of this webinar are the result of a collaboration between the École nationale d’administration publique, the Université du Québec à Montréal and Cheikh Anta Diop University.
