May is an independent evaluation specialist with over 25 years of experience in the planning, design, commissioning, conduct, management and reporting of policy, programme, strategy, ex-post and ex-ante evaluations, across a wide range of education (mainstream, higher and vocational), information technology and social initiatives.  Her recent work has focused on development and includes an evidence strategy for the new global platform, Education Cannot Wait, advisory services to UNRWA on strengthening evaluation quality across the organisation as well as numerous evaluations at EU and international levels.  Previously May held evaluation posts within the European Commission and UNESCO.   She studied under Professor Barry MacDonald and holds a Masters in Social Research from the University of East Anglia.
